Angkor Wat is the most famous and representative ruins in Cambodia. Siem Reap is located in front of Angkor Wat and Siem Reap is a small city but it has the historic and precious ruins, Ankor Wat. Let visit Siem Reap, a small city, which is located in west-north in Cambodia but as long as the ruins, Angkor Wat is existing today, even tomorrow and yesterday, so many people will visit them. If you look around the downtown of Siem Reap, you may think that it is enough to look around it with one day. ; the size of Siem Reapis really small but the No. 6 national road, which goes through the center of Siem Reap, is connected to Phnom Penh.

Since 1997, there have been foreign visitors who come into this small city, Siem Reap, in full –swing. This small city, Siem Reap has been changing with many Luxurious Hotels and restaurants and every kind of convenient facilities established indiscriminately for back-packers and travelers. There is a downtown around the traditional old market and except the small market, there are so many souvenir shops, massage shops , restaurants and convenient facilities for the travelers. They make travelers spend their money with temptation to buy.

Except Ankor Wat, there are the most largest lake in east-south Asia, Ttonle Shop and war museum and old market etc., which deserve travelers’ eyes.

Phnom Penh

In 1431, Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, was established and it has been invaded so much times by outsiders and other countries with civil wars for 600 years. The invasions has made Phnom Penh ruined and the current Phnom Penh is not an arranged shape but it is becoming a big and enlivened city. There are in Phnom Penh many European-style and Chinese-style buildings which were built under France-colony era and which is different from nearby east-south Asian countries. Phnom Penh means ; Phnom means hills or mountains; When there is flood in Mekong river which goes through the Phnom Penh, a certain woman, whose name is Penh, takes the statue of Buddha out of the river. So the city name is Phnom Penh.

The main sightseeing sights are Royal Kingdom palace, Silver Pagoda Killing field Wat Phnom etc., and travelers can look around many ruins and center market, Russian market and traditional market. Especially, exotic is the caffee street which has view of Mekong river.

Sihanouk Ville (Kompong Som)

Sihanoukville is not magnificent but it is re-born as a comfortable and best port city in Cambodia. Relatively well equipped accommodation facilities and skin-skuba facilities, and fishing etc., are in the Sihanoukville. So it is very popular sea-shore city and sight-seeing course with foreign travelers and Cambodians.. It is also called as Sihanouk Ville and it is a rare sightseeing course with beach in Cambodia.. there is no pollution in Sihanoukville so the water is so much clean and clear. The waters is not deep so it is good for enjoying swimming.

In order to move to Sihanoukville from downtown, travelers can use rent bicycle and auto-bicycle. There are several Casino Hotels near beach and from Sihanoukville, travelers can go to Thailand border city, Hotreck by land or by sea without going through Phnom Penh. Before the local people call Sihanoukville Ggumbbongsong which is now more popular. Currently, Sihanoukville has around 6 beaches. The most famous beach is Oztial and Vitory and Hawaii beach etc., Oztial and Vitory beach seems to be the most easiest for normal travelers to go. It is because there are so many accommodation facilities and restaurants for travelers in there. Excepting beaches in Sihanoukville, there are accommodation facilities and restaurants and markets. It is also good for travelers to go to trips around beaches while staying in accommodation facilities in town.
